Sterling Life Membership Card - Lillie T. Engberg - 1939/1940 President - International Shrine Club Woman's Auxiliary
This is the 2nd best example of hand engraving that I have ever owned.   If you write, I'll send you pictures of the best... hint, I'm keeping it,
It flashes in the light like the sun.  It is hard to get a good photo.  It does have a few scratches,and I did clean it a bit....  The funny splotch in the photo of the back is the reflection of the camera.
It is about 1.75" by 2.75" and less than a millimeter think
27.2 grams.   It is definitely sterling and is expertly engraved
As of 6/8/21 the gold scrap value works out to about - give or take.
There are three separate but related values here... the materials of the metal, the artistic and craftsmanship value,and the value of this item's in its place in history.
It must have been in fashion to give these out in the 1920's and 1930's.  I have a bunch of them!  Se my other auctions.
I have had this card and long time and have put off selling it because I do not want to see it melted.  I like it very much.
