    Description

Here is offered a very special and rare coin from Ottoman Empire, AH1293/27 Turkey Ottoman 500 Kurush KM-746 Piastres Gold Monnaie De Luxe which appears to have sharp Uncirculated details, this coin was minted as a gift to dignitaries, it is Sultanate coinage with milled/reeded edge. Compostion Gold Fineness is 0.917 which is 22 karat. Weight 35.08 grams which is 1.032oz AGW. Obverse description is radiant Toughra above crossed flags, ornamental base which was coat-of-arms for Ottoman Empire and regnal year "27". Reverse description shows inscription as mint location at Qustantiniyah today's Istanbul and date "1293" within star and designed border. This coin is from Abdulhamid the second era. Most of these coins became part of a jewelry or melted for their highly valued gold content. This sample appears to be never mounted on any jewelry frame. I took some pictures of the edges around the coin to show that it was never altered. I am not a professional coin grader but I would consider this coin as almost uncirculated though it has no issues. If you have any questions please email them to me and I will respond them accordingly. Thanks for looking.
