    Description

1976 Trans Am - low mileage survivor
78,000 miles.  Original California car that has been garaged for the last 15 years or so.  I have owned this for about 6 months and have decided to finish another Trans AM first, so this one has to go.  I bought this from a guy with the same plans and had to change directions.  He bought it from the original owners son I believe. Clean Title in my name.
Body is exceptionally straight with small ding in driver's side fender and minor rippling to both of the rear, lower rocker panels.  It looks like it was lightly hit in the rear bumper, which pushed the lower quarters in just a little.  very minor body work needed.  All other lines are really nice and there are no other problem areas or any signs of any other accident that occurred. Original color was white it appears. Undercarriage has no visible rust anyplace that I can see.  It is very nice but a oily from an engine leak.  Trunk is very clean also with no rust anyplace.  With a minimal amount of body work, this car can be ready for paint.  New flairs and some other pieces are included.
Interior is very complete and original, with typical cracking to the top of the dash pad only, which is very repairable. As far as I can tell, nothing is missing! No rust anyplace!
Original 400, numbers matching, very original engine with all the original smog equipment in place even.  Everyone puts an LS3 in these cars, which was on the table certainly.  (The other 79 Trans AM I am doing instead has the LS3 and Tremec combination in it and I can give guidance on doing it correctly.)  Original Transmission is still in the car but was reported to be in need of a rebuild, which is what parked the car.  A replacement tranny came with it and can go also go, but I was planning a rebuild of the original TH400 or to do a Tremec 6 speed swap, as mentioned.
It has a new set of the original snowflake wheels and tires are virtually brand new.
Glass is all there but probably plan on a new set.  Windshield has a crack in it.
Overall this car is pretty rare.  I see 20-30 of the 77-79 Trans AMs before I see one of these.
